Let’s be honest—when you sit down at the end of a long day, and let’s say 99 things went right, and one thing went wrong, what do you usually talk about over dinner? If you’re like most people, the conversation centers around the one thing that went wrong. And, in order to make it worthy of dinner conversation, we exaggerate it, polish it, and give it so much weight it ends up defining our entire day. Sound familiar?
Well, not today.
This Front-Row Friday, I want to invite you to change that narrative and ask yourself one simple, powerful question: What are your WINS?
Define Your Wins. Then Celebrate Them.
A “win” doesn’t have to be a million-dollar sale or standing ovation. (Okay, for me a standing ovation would be a win for sure!) A win is whatever you decide it is. Maybe someone you admire gave you a compliment. Maybe you reached out to a potential client—even if the deal isn’t closed yet. Maybe you finally spoke up in a meeting or nailed a presentation.
The beauty of this practice is you get to define what winning looks like for you. Big or small—acknowledgements, accomplishments, action steps—they all count.
Start Your Win File
It’s one thing to notice your wins. It’s another thing to track them. Start a Win File—a notebook, a journal, or even a digital doc—and every time something goes right, record it. Don’t wait for a “big” win to get started. Capture the high-five from your colleague, the grateful email from a client, the brave conversation you had with your boss. Why?
Because when the temptation strikes to vent about what went wrong, you’ll have a bank of proof that things are going right more often than you realize.
Train Your Brain to Look for Wins
Here’s the bonus: when you get into the habit of tracking your wins, your brain starts looking for more of them. It knows you’re going to document them, so it stays alert for more positive moments to file away. Over time, this becomes your new default setting—positivity.
Imagine that—getting to the end of a challenging day and still choosing to talk about what went right. Even if only one thing went well, that one win can become your headline.
This Week’s Challenge Your Front-Row Friday challenge is simple:
1. Start your Win File today.
2. Add at least one win every day, no matter how small.
3. Reread your wins regularly, especially when you need a dose of encouragement.
You have the power to flip the script on your mindset. The more you focus on what’s working, the more of it you’ll find. And soon enough, you’ll be living every day in the front-row—where life is vibrant, fulfilling, and worth celebrating.
Here’s to more wins in your life. You deserve them.
Happy Front-Row Friday!
Your Head Usher,
