Happy Front-Row Friday! Today’s message is all about reminding you that it’s never too late to pursue your goals and dreams.
Let me introduce you to an incredibly inspiring man named George Dawson.
George Dawson was born in 1898 into a world of hardship. His family didn’t have the means or opportunities for him to get an education. He worked alongside his father in the fields from a young age and led a simple life filled with challenges. For decades, he couldn’t read or write—but he never lost hope.
Then, one day, everything changed.
As an adult—at the age of 98—someone knocked on George’s door selling an adult education program. Something about that moment sparked a decision. George said, “You know, it’s time to learn how to read.”
Let that sink in for a moment: at 98 years old, George Dawson went back to school. He had to start at the third-grade reading level, sitting in classrooms designed for children. Can you imagine the courage it took to step into that environment at his age? But George wasn’t deterred. He kept at it.
Two years later, at the age of 100, George Dawson published his first book, Life Is So Good. The book captured his century of experiences, from surviving the Great Depression to witnessing monumental changes in history. It became a testament to his belief that life is full of opportunities if we have the courage to seize them.
Isn’t that incredible?
George Dawson’s story is a powerful reminder that time hasn’t passed you by. It’s never too late to pick up where you left off, dream big, or start something new.
So, what’s that goal you’ve been putting off? What’s that dream you’ve shelved because you thought it was too late?
Let George Dawson inspire you to take action today. Whether it’s learning a new skill, starting a business, or writing that book, don’t let the number of candles on your birthday cake hold you back.
On this Front-Row Friday, I encourage you to move out of the balcony of excuses and step into the front row of action. Pursue your dreams with passion and courage.
Because, like George Dawson showed us, it’s never too late to rewrite your story.
Have a great day, keep dreaming, and I’ll see you in the front-row!
Your Head Usher,
Marilyn
