Don’t you love when a vision becomes a reality? Especially, when the vision is totally outrageous! Many people thought that businessman Bill Foley was nuts for bringing an NHL Hockey team to the desert of Las Vegas. He made it happen and built a practice facility near my home. Well, six years ago, I visited this facility of the brand new NHL Hockey team, the Vegas Golden Knights. You could see how much he believed in his team. In fact, I took a photo of a sign on the wall that literally said; “I want to win the Stanley Cup within the first six years.” Fast forward 6 years later, and the Las Vegas Golden Knights just won their very first Stanley Cup! The city went wild to see the home team win in such a short time. There are so many lessons here!
- Don’t be afraid to dream big!
- Don’t believe the doubters
- Set outrageous goals and affirm what you want
- Have a specific vision for yourself and your team
- Be the kind of leader that team members want to follow with all of their hearts.
I’m so excited about this week’s message about visioning which is one of the topics of my keynote presentations. In fact, I’ve decided to take my message of inspiration and hope deeper by offering an online course for people to go deeper with the message of living and leading from the front-row.
