Have you ever had a chance encounter with someone and it turned out unexpectedly great? Wanda Dench and Jamal Hinton met under the most bizarre circumstances – through a wrong number. Let me explain. Wanda texted who she thought was her 24 year old grandson to come over for Thanksgiving dinner. She got a text back from Jamal asking, ‘Who is this?’ Wanda responded, ‘Your grandmother’. After an exchange of texts and selfies, clearly she wasn’t his grandmother! He is black, she is white, and they had never met in their life. It simply was a wrong number. However, and this is where the story gets really good, Jamal responded, “I’m not your grandson, but can I have a plate anyway?” Wanda thought why not and invited him over for Thanksgiving. And, they’ve been sharing Thanksgiving together for 6 years! I love this total random meeting that turned out very special. I’ve always said that your success will depend on who you sit with and where you sit. For today’s Front-Row Friday, I encourage you to be open to sitting next to someone new.
