As I finish my third week of immersion French class, I wanted to share the surprising magic that has happened as a result of being here. First off, the lesson about unfounded fear. I think the reason I didn’t do this earlier (I’ve wanted to speak fluent French for most of my adult life) was because I’m busy and I have my own speaking business to run.
How are you? Today’s Front-Row Friday message is about course-correction. Are you on your path to the front-row? Do you feel great about the people you’ve invited to your front-row? Have you made a decision that is actually not the best decision for you? It’s never too late to course-correct. Let me explain.
We get what we focus on, but it’s human nature to focus on the one bad thing, instead of the one good thing. I’ve talked before about creating a “Win-List” where you capture all of the good things happening in your world.
When was the last time you looked at your bucket list, or your vision board, or your goal list? If you’re like me, you may have said that now isn’t the right time to fulfill that dream, or goal or aspiration. Now is not the time. But, when will it be the perfect time? That time won’t come. I suggest that you decide now to put something in place to be able to cross something off of your bucket list.
Today, more than ever, there is a lot of negativity going around. It’s difficult to muster the courage and energy to do even the most basic of things. Here are three things you can do to stay Front-Row Positive (even when other people are determined to be balcony negative):
I hope you’ve been watching the Olympics, not just for the exciting completion and national pride rooting for their own athletes, but for the stories of redemption. Nathan Chen literally fell short of his his performance 4 years ago, and almost made up for it in his long program but only managed to finish 5th.
Do you remember being 7 years old? I know for a fact I wasn’t as responsible as the hero in today’s Front-Row Friday video.
We’ve all heard the phrase “practice what you preach” or “walk the talk”. Recently, I was reminded that it’s easier said than done (there’s another phrase that we’ve all heard!).
Have you ever been disappointed by someone not meeting your expectations? It happens all the time. I encourage you to minimize your disappointment by spending a little more time upfront with clarifying your expectations to begin with
Do you have a mentor? The path to your front-row can be an easier journey if you have a mentor who is illuminating the path for you. You know, like an usher! I’ve had a mentor ever since I saw my very first motivational speaker when I was 17, Roger Crawford.
