The journey to your front-row is rarely easy. There will be obstacles, challenges, and difficult terrain along the way. But the struggles you face are not without purpose. Let me share a metaphor that has stuck with me over the years: the vineyards of Burgundy, France.
In Burgundy, the vines must fight through tough, rocky terrain to reach the nutrients they need to grow. And because of this struggle, they produce some of the boldest, most flavorful wines in the world. The same can be said about you and me. We will face obstacles—sometimes harsh and unrelenting—but it is in these moments of resistance that we grow stronger, bolder, and more resilient.
Facing Obstacles Head On
I know the path to your front-row may seem daunting. But here’s the truth: when you face your challenges head on and push through them, you become a stronger person on the other side. That resilience prepares you for the next obstacle that comes your way. It makes the next challenge seem just a little more manageable, and soon, you start to embrace the difficulties as part of your growth journey.
Do I wish the road to your front row was smooth and effortless? Of course! But life doesn’t work that way. We all face difficulties, but each obstacle presents an opportunity to grow, learn, and move closer to living life in the front-row.
Another metaphor I love comes from a quote attributed to Eleanor Roosevelt: “A woman is like a teabag. You don’t know her strength until she’s in hot water.” I believe this applies to all of us. You don’t truly understand your own strength until you face adversity, until you’re in the middle of your challenges.
So today, remember this—you are a strong, resilient person. No matter what challenges or obstacles you’re up against, you have the strength within you to get to the other side. It’s okay to acknowledge what you’re going through, ask for help from those you trust, and believe in your own ability to persevere.
