What does win-win mean to you? Whenever you give your time or talent or lend someone your ear, without any expectation of receiving anything in return, you can’t help feel good about yourself. That to me is a win-win. I was reflecting on this after spending a couple of hours with a dear friend recovering from several surgeries. She’s been in the hospital for 73 days now, and it felt really good to just sit with her. While I was at the hospital, I saw a service dog, you know one of those dogs that goes into hospital rooms to make patients feel good. All they do is wag their tale and provide a moment of happiness. I love this idea! It’s a win-win! The dogs love to be pet, and the patients feel great.
I can’t talk about win-win without mentioning my good friend Jeff Civillico. He is a hall of fame speaker, emcee, and a talented performer as a headliner on the Las Vegas strip. He has a charity called Win-Win Charity (www.winwincharity.org). With all of his friends who are entertainers, they partner with him by donating their time and talent for chilldren in Children’s hospitals around the country. It’s a win-win because the children get to see world class entertainers, illusionists, singers, magicians, and the performers hearts are FILLED with appreciative smiles of the children. Due to covid, they stopped in-person visits to hospitals but now, they perform virtually and even have a channel that children can watch in real-time, or anytime on demand. It’s such a great idea that these kids can participate right from their hospital beds.
Just for today, find a win-win. Reach out, spend some time, send a text, do something to make someone’s day and I guarantee it will come back to you.
Enjoy your Front-Row Friday!
