Where are you sitting in life? Are you up front, engaged, and excited? Or are you stuck in general admission, comfortable but unchallenged? Worse yet, have you slipped into the balcony, disengaged and watching life from a distance? I talk a lot about living life in the front-row, and for good reason. The front-row is where the action is. It’s where opportunities show up, where you are fully present, where you’re living your best life. But let’s be real—most people settle for general admission. It’s comfortable. It’s predictable. It’s… fine. And settling for your comfort zone is a problem. My incredible mentor, Dr. Nido Qubein, taught me this truth: ➡ Your comfort zone leads to habits. ➡ Your habits lead to a rut. ➡ Your rut leads to mediocrity.
And I’ll take it a step further: If you stay in general admission long enough, that seat eventually turns into a balcony seat. You become disengaged, uninspired, and—let’s be honest—not happy. Let’s apply this to real life. Take your health chair as an example. Maybe your health isn’t great, but it’s not terrible either. You’re just… in general admission. Comfortable. Now, fast-forward one week. One month. One year. Five years. If your health stays exactly the same as it is today, how do you feel about that? What about your work chair? Are you growing in your career or business? Or are you just showing up and checking the boxes? What about your relationship chair? Is your marriage, your friendships, your family life thriving? Or are you just coasting? Your attitude chair? Your faith chair? If nothing changes, does that excite you—or does it make you want to shift seats? This Front-Row Friday, I challenge you to take a hard look at where you’re sitting. Are you content in general admission, or is it time to take action? Imagine what it would look like to move your seat to the front-row: ✅ What small habits can you change today to improve your health? ✅ What steps can you take to advance in your career? ✅ How can you be more intentional in your relationships? ✅ What shifts in attitude will help you live with more joy and purpose? You don’t have to make a massive leap overnight, but you can take a step today that will bring you closer to your front-row. Your front-row seat is waiting. Will you claim it? |
