Are you struggling with procrastination? Watch today’s Front-Row Friday video as I explore what might be holding you back and what to do about it. For example:
- Aiming for perfection is a primary reason behind procrastination.
- Embrace your imperfections; not only will it help you over the finish line on a project, but it will make you more relatable as an authentic person. And authenticity is what connects you to others.
- Unless you’re a brain surgeon, I suggest you adopt “done is better than perfect” mentality It can transform your productivity.
I remember writing my first book, Whose Comfort Zone Are You In?, and it was literally taking me years to write it. Then when I confessed my procrastination with another speaker, he said “Finish your damn book, no one is going to read it anyway!” Oddly enough, that helped me get over my procrastination and I finished it. And, his point was, after a keynote speech, people just want to take me home in the form of my book and sometimes they don’t read it. I went on to write three more books and it didn’t take nearly as much time! They are certainly not perfect, but they have been known to inspire a person or two.
Happy Front-Row Friday!
