When was the last time you reflected on your life and took stock of where you’ve been and where you’re going? As I celebrate my 60th birthday tomorrow – seems like I’ve been celebrating for a month – I was reflecting on 5 things that I believe help ME to live a front-row life.
1. Time REALLY does fly by
If you are procrastinating or sitting on the fence for any reason, take action NOW! You never know how much longer you have on this earth and it’s true – life goes by FAST.
2. Love your work with a passion
You spend a lot of time doing your work, do it with passion and purpose! And, if you don’t have a lot of passion and purpose for your job, refer to number 1 and maybe get a new job!
3. Love your friends unconditionally
I have been so fortunate especially over the last couple of years to have friends in my life who constantly uplift me. Love on your friends before you need them, before you lose them. Friends are gold and they shine for you in your darkest hours.
4. Let go of other people’s opinion of you
I’ve wasted too much time second-guessing myself wondering what other people would think of me and my decisions. Let it go! Don’t wait. Feel confident in your decisions and don’t wait another second for approval of others.
5. Live your life’s story for maximum impact!
My dear friend and mentor Dr. Nido Qubein had his life story read in the senate chamber in Washington DC this week. He has led an extraordinary life so far and has made a huge impact on so many, especially in the city of High Point, North Carolina. So much impact in fact, his life story was highlighted in Washington DC. It got me thinking…am I living MY life story in such a way that I’m making maximum impact for others? That will be my focus. I will live my life in such a way that others may be inspired to share. Won’t you join me too?
Finally, let me express my gratitude for your kindness, support, and friendship over the years. Now – go live your life in the front-row and usher people to their front-row by shining your light in service of others.
See you in the Front-Row!
Your Head Usher,
Marilyn
