It’s my last day in Paris on this bucket-list trip and I wanted to send you a message of hope to remind you of something that came to my attention today. It’s not enough to write out your bucket lists, to create a vision board, to write your goals of hopes, dreams and aspirations. No. It’s about taking ACTION on your goals, even if it’s just one step closer to your front-row. Then, when you take that action, BE OPEN to the MAGIC that can appear along the way! In March, I enrolled in a French immersion school, so I could cross off my list my dream of speaking fluent French. It was time to stop dreaming and planning and it was time to take action. Here’s where the magic showed up for me. Because I was here, I posted my ‘front-row moments’ that I was witnessing. You know, the ups and downs of learning a new language without the safety net of my spouse who used to live here. Because I was sharing my joys and challenges and how happy I was to get one step closer to my French front-row, someone reached out to me and asked, “Are you still going to be there in May?” He told me that the Association of French Professional Speakers was having their annual convention and he was speaking at it. I asked him who his contact was, and long story short, I too was on the agenda to keynote that event. THAT NEVER WOULD have happened, had I not taken action on my goal! Don’t get blinded by the planning of your goals, take action then be open to the magic that will happen along the way! I’ve met some incredible people here that I only met because I was actively pursuing one of my bucket list goals.
