Today, more than ever, there is a lot of negativity going around. It’s difficult to muster the courage and energy to do even the most basic of things. Here are three things you can do to stay Front-Row Positive (even when other people are determined to be balcony negative):
1. Keep track of your wins
No matter how simple things are, give yourself credit and keep track. When you see you’ve accomplished the little tasks in your day, it will help you build momentum to tackle the more difficult things. No judgement either; if you want to put ‘made my bed’ on your list, go for it!
2. Don’t get distracted by bad news
There are a lot of negative news stories out there, and of course the rabbit-hole of social media that can be very distracting. Re-focus on what is right in the world, what’s going on in your world that is good. Have THAT list handy just in case you get distracted by bad news.
3. Reach out and offer support to someone else
This always helps to put your life into perspective. Offer help, support, or volunteer your time to someone who is having a hard time. Make it a goal to make someone’s day, that will drastically affect your mood in a positive way!
BONUS: Always remember, there will be people who will try to bring you down, and shed their balcony negative mood on you. I invite you to love those people from the balcony. Yes, they are there – in the distance, and you don’t have to let their negative energy penetrate your positive energy. Protect your front-row from those people, because you want to reserve your front-row seats for people who support you and your positive vision!
Have a great Front-Row Friday and I’ll see you soon!
Your Head Usher,
Marilyn
