An Interview With Marilyn Sherman
Ask anyone who has ever experienced a Marilyn Sherman motivational presentation and they’ll say, with a twinkle in their eye and a smile on their face, Marilyn gave me the tools I needed to make permanent changes in my life and career, and she made it fun!
For more than 16 years, Marilyn has been delightfully surprising rooms full of front line corporate employees, association members, C-level executives, sales forces and the like, with her uncanny ability to connect with her audiences - engaging them through entertaining and educational story-telling - leaving her audience empowered by the lessons learned and tools acquired.
Q. You have a very successful series of presentations and you are the author of respected books based on your presentations. Yet, you recently changed your keynote presentation from Whose Comfort Zone Are You In? to Who Moved My Comfort Zone? Can you tell us why?
A. Who Moved My Comfort Zone? gives people the tools to remain positive while navigating all the changes being thrown at them during these uncertain economic times. Before, I was inspiring people to stretch themselves in order to avoid complacency. Today, people are already stretched with such changes as loss of job security, business downturns, lack of customers, etc. They’ve been pushed out of their comfort zone without the necessary survival tools. Who Moved My Comfort Zone? helps people cope by giving them hope, the inspiration to try, and the life tools to surpass expectations.
Q. What type of companies or organizations hire you?
A. Any company or association that wants, needs and values an inspired workforce or membership. Today, more than ever, organizations need to remain steadfast in their commitment to providing their people with the will, desire and ability to overcome obstacles to success. My hallmark presentations, Who Moved My Comfort Zone?; Why Settle for the Balcony? – How to Get A Front Row Seat in Life and my breakout session program, Communicating for Results: From Conflict to Cooperation are now considered corporate necessities. |
